wfco Volunteer Opportunities

How to Give Your Time, Talent, Treasure, and Testimony

As a community foundation, most of our impact is achieved through the collective impact of generous donations, collaborative efforts, and strategic partnerships in public policy advocacy, research, and grantmaking. Volunteer opportunities with WFCO are sporadic, however, dozens of volunteers help out with our Annual Luncheon each fall, our direct service grantmaking committee reviews applications annually for our WAGES grantee cohort, and a committee of diverse community members reviews applications annually for The Greater Vail Valley Women's Fund.

This summer, we expanded our statewide engagement program and now offer more opportunities to engage with WFCO than ever before. If you would like to volunteer for us,  we can get you engaged as we work to create a state where all women can thrive. Here are some of the current opportunities:

  • Join a regional committee! Our statewide regional committees in Boulder, Colorado Springs, Northern Colorado, Pueblo, and the Vail Valley are made up of dedicated local volunteers. Don’t see one where you live? Start one!
  • In the Denver-metro area? We need volunteers to come into the office and help build our presence in the community.
  • Be a fundraiser! Our development team needs help with events around the state.
  • Table for The Women’s Foundation at a community event. We can get you materials and training, all we need is you!
  • Attend an advocacy training. If we don’t currently have one scheduled in your area, let us know you are interested.

If you're interested in any of these current volunteer opportunities, please contact Mallory Garner-Wells, statewide engagement manager, at malloryg@wfco.org. To volunteer at our Annual Luncheon, please contact Kristina Vaio at kristinav@wfco.org

Don't forget that sharing our research, coming to our events, and advocating for issues with your legislators are ways you can informally volunteer to help move the needle for Colorado women and their families.

Volunteer with a direct service grantee

We encourage those wanting to give their time and talent to advance Colorado women and their families more frequently to explore volunteer opportunities with our direct service grantees.

“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.” — Unknown
