Giving Circles

WFCO Is Your Home for Connected, Collective Giving

Giving circles have been around the U.S. for decades and are gaining in popularity. The number of giving circles has tripled since 2007 and the majority of these donors are women. WFCO is proud to host several giving circles, a space where our donors give collectively and connect for meaningful conversations, thoughtful grantmaking, and community building.

Giving circles generally are formed by individuals with shared passions, identities, or experiences. WFCO currently hosts several giving circles, including:

Beyond Our Borders

Beyond Our Borders

Nearly 40 women make up Beyond Our Borders, which extends WFCO’s grantmaking focus on economic security to women globally

BFFs Who Care Fund

At regular social engagements, a great group of BFF‘s would discuss the longevity of our relationships and the power of our networks. We decided that although the dance parties are fun, it would be meaningful to help others as well. We will leave a legacy that will pass on to future generations, united around lifelong giving, connectivity, fun and friendships.

How Giving Circles Work

Members of giving circles decide upon a minimum financial contribution, requirements for membership, and a process for grantmaking. Additionally, they will determine whether to co-invest with The Foundation, fund women and girls’ initiatives that The Foundation does not currently have the capacity to fund, or fund causes that mean the most to them.
