Donor-Advised Funds, Women Will & Giving Circles

The Women's Foundation of Colorado is your trusted partner in philanthropy, wherever you are in your philanthropic journey.

Donor-Advised Funds

Flexible and accessible. Convenient and easy.

Focus your philanthropy on the causes that matter the most to you by establishing a donor-advised fund (DAF) at WFCO. WFCO is your home for individual, corporate, and nonprofit funds.

A DAF is a philanthropic tool allowing donors to make charitable contributions, receive an immediate tax benefit, and recommend grants to their favorite nonprofit organizations from the fund over time. WFCO is proud to offer a $2,500 match to all new funds thanks to the generosity of the Ruth Ray Hunt Fund, a donor-advised fund held at The Women's Foundation of Colorado.

 Why Start a Donor-Advised Fund?

  • Experiencing a liquidity event
  • Seeking to reduce taxable income
  • Avoiding the complexities that come with starting a private foundation
  • Wanting the option to give anonymously
  • Strategic philanthropy

Whether you’re passionate about advancing women and girls, arts, environmentalism, or anything in, DAFS at WFCO can grant to any 501(c)3 organization in the U.S. By choosing WFCO as your donor-advised fund partner, you’ll have access to our deep community connections and gender-lens expertise to strategize and cultivate your philanthropic passions and legacy.

The Foundation offers two investment portfolios for donors managed by Syntrinsic Investment Counsel. A long-term, unitized portfolio, which is currently 27.8 percent gender-lens invested as of December 2019, and a 100-percent gender-lens portfolio, which no other community foundation in Colorado offers.

"I'm really grateful to be part of The Women's Foundation because I am learning a ton about all of these incredible organizations and this incredible network."

Women Will

Build WFCO into your legacy

Women Will is The Foundation’s legacy giving program ensuring your commitment to women’s progress continues well into the future.

Women Will members plan gifts or bequests to fund the vital work of The Foundation through their estates. A Women Will membership allows us to thank and recognize you for the plans you have made without dues or obligations. Benefits of membership in Women Will include invitations to events and special recognition.

Planned giving creates a powerful legacy beyond your lifetime, amplifies your impact, and sustains WFCO’s mission.

Contact Renee Ferrufino, vice president of development, at reneef@wfco.org to discuss including WFCO in your plans.

Giving Circles

Join or Start a Giving Circle

WFCO is proud to host several giving circles, a space where our donors give collectively and connect for meaningful conversations, thoughtful grantmaking, and community building.

Giving circles are formed by individuals with shared passions, identities, or experiences. WFCO currently hosts several giving circles with missions ranging from global philanthropy to impact investing and entrepreneurship.

 Meet Our Giving Circles

Beyond Our Borders: Nearly 40 women make up Beyond Our Borders, which extends WFCO’s grantmaking focus on economic security to women globally

BFFs Who Care Fund: At regular social engagements, a great group of BFF‘s would discuss the longevity of our relationships and the power of our networks. We decided that although the dance parties are fun, it would be meaningful to help others as well. We will leave a legacy that will pass on to future generations, united around lifelong giving, connectivity, fun and friendships.

The Community Chest: Started by nine friends who have survived breast cancer and wish to build a more empowered and connected Denver community

Eat, Drink, Give: A newly formed group of accomplished women who support women and children in Colorado, while also building lasting relationships with each other. We are a social group with a purpose to eat, drink, and GIVE.

The Lotus Collective Fund: An inclusive group of women seeking to effect change in the Denver community by granting funds to innovative organizations.

The Pueblo Area Giving Circle: The Pueblo Area Giving Circle is a new and inclusive group of multi-generational women supporting women and girls who strive toward leadership and family development opportunities in our communities.

SPIN: An African American giving circle of women who want to change the narrative about women of color as philanthropists while investing in marginalized women and adolescent girls

Women’s Impact Investing Giving Circle: A space for women who wish to learn about impact investing and support women entrepreneurs
