When Women Thrive, Pueblo Rises
Pueblo consistently ranks as one of the most affordable places to live in Colorado and is home to one of the nation's top-ten workforce development programs. Yet, Pueblo women are being left behind. One if five women 18 and older in Pueblo County live in poverty - that's approximately 16,692 women unable to meet the basic needs of their families. And thousands more live just above the federal poverty line and must remain on work supports to meet the basic needs of their families. This isn’t just a devastating statistic – it’s a missed opportunity for all of Colorado. WFCO is working to change that through the power of our community, philanthropy, and impact.
It’s impossible for WFCO to do our work for women and their families without statewide support and local advocates. We seek involvement from Pueblo community members with their time, talent, treasure, and testimony. To inquire about any of the following opportunities, please contact Renee Ferrufino, vice president of development, at reneef@wfco.org.
Join the Pueblo regional committee
Our Pueblo regional committee helps WFCO organize fundraisers, community events, advocacy outreach, community partnerships, and much more. We are looking for more members to join this dynamic group of movement makers.
"I invest my time into The Women's Foundation's Pueblo regional committee to pay forward the wisdom and blessings I have enjoyed as a woman who has been able to move from sustenance living to a life of abundance and sharing. This is my wish for all women and WFCO is helping me affect realization of that wish." - Isabel Waddell, co-chair, Pueblo regional commitee
