Pueblo Regional Committee

A committee of more than 20 women, the Pueblo Regional Committee actively engages local communities in the work of WFCO. Through planning and hosting an annual soiree and silent auction; sharing timely, relevant research and supporting public policy efforts; and holding local WFCO education events, local committee members are building a network for women, girls, and community partners from the region and growing regional strategic philanthropy. We know that when women and girls thrive, entire communities prosper.

By supporting WFCO, you will be working toward systemic change with others from your community to address the following issues facing Colorado women and girls:

  • In Pueblo, almost 20% of women are living at poverty level.

  • In Pueblo, single mothers earn approximately $20,589, and the cost of child care can be nearly half their income.

  • Women working in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields earn 33% more than in other fields and Colorado has the highest number per capita of entry-level STEM jobs, yet women represent only 24% of the STEM work-force. Too many women are discouraged at a young age from pursuing their scientific interests and lack female role models and mentors who could help them achieve success in STEM careers.
