Women Will

Planned Giving

Women will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Women Will is a group of individuals who have the gift of foresight. Not only do they believe in the merit of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts, but they make our work a part of their enduring legacy by including us in their will or estate through planned giving.

Planned giving is a process of making a gift that uses tax, financial, and charitable estate planning techniques to enable a donor to make a sizable gift commitment and receive significant tax and financial benefits (as well as, of course, the satisfaction of knowing that their gift will support the efforts of Colorado's women and girls to achieve economic self-sufficiency).

There are many ways to make your legacy gift:

  • Make a bequest to The Women's Foundation of Colorado in your will or revocable trust;
  • Make The Women's Foundation a beneficiary of an I.R.A. or other retirement plan;
  • Make The Women's Foundation a remainder beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust;
  • Establish a charitable lead trust designating the charitable distribution to The Women's Foundation of Colorado;
  • Make The Women's Foundation of Colorado the owner of a paid-up life insurance policy or the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.

The following information is provided to assist you and your attorney:

  • The legal name of the foundation is The Women's Foundation of Colorado;
  • The Women's Foundation of Colorado is an IRS nonprofit corporation [501(c)(3)] and is organized under the laws of the State of Colorado; The foundation’s tax identification number is #84-1039305.

Sample bequest language:

I give to The Women's Foundation of Colorado, a Colorado nonprofit corporation, ___________(insert dollar amount, percentage of estate, or exact description of property) for the Annual Operating Fund or for the specific purpose of _________(designate purpose).

We would be happy to discuss the planned giving process with you in more detail. Please contact Eve Powell (303-285-2966, or evep@wfco.org).
