Denver Gender Matters Luncheon

The Denver Gender Matters Luncheon is the Foundation's largest single funraising event each year. The work begins each year in the spring, as we begin lining up sponsorships and selling tables and tickets. All the efforts culminate with the luncheon in November. But the time in between is filled with a long list of tasks, which includes dozens of different volunteers opportunities.

During the summer months, volunteers can work with committee members on ticket and table sales, and continuing to solicit corporate sponsorships at all levels. As the luncheon draws closer, administrative volunteers are needed for gathering and entering table guest lists, and processing ticket sales. On the day of the luncheon, many volunteers are needed: to greet and direct guests at The Adam's Mark, to work at the registration tables, and to pre-set promotional materials at the tables.

To learn more about volunteer opportunities associated with the luncheon, contact Eve Powell (303-285-2966, or evep@wfco.org).

Educational Forums

The Women's Foundation is committed to educating our communities and decision makers about the myriad issues affecting women's efforts to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Toward that end we offer educational forums all year long, in Denver and around the state.

Volunteers are sometimes needed to assist at the events themselves, and with invitations to the events. In addition, we are always interested in partnering with professionals (either corporate or non-profit), whose areas of expertise dove-tail with The WFCO's mission. Frequently, those individuals and organizations are invited to participate as panelists in the educational forums.

If you are interested in participating in or assisting with an educational forum, please contact Eve Powell (303-285-2966, or evep@wfco.org).

Volunteer Partnerships

WFCO receives many inquiries from interested volunteers to help in its important mission. Primarily a facilitating / funding agency and not an implementing agency, the WFCO does not offer hands on volunteer opportunities providing services directly to women and girls.

If you are interested in volunteer work outside of this WFCO menu of opportunities identified above, we encourage you to visit www.metrovolunteers.org, to search for opportunities to impact women and girls.

Metro Volunteers has a data base containing women and girl's-centered organizations in need of volunteer assistance within the Denver Metro Area. If you are looking for volunteer opportunities in another part of the state, they are often able to connect you to a volunteer organization in your community. You may also contact Kathi Connor, Director of Volunteers at Metro Volunteers at kathic@metrovolunteers.org. Make sure to tell her that the Women's Foundation sent you!
