The 2008 nomination cycle is now closed.
The Unique Woman of Colorado Award pays tribute to a living woman who has had a special, unique impact on Colorado ... a woman who has:
- Left her indelible mark on the community through her leadership in business, education, philanthropy, government, the arts, sports, medicine, public service, science or technology.
- Shown the courage to set her goals high and the determination to achieve them.
- Used her influence or her example positively to create a more equitable society for Colorado's women and girls.
The 2007 winner will receive a one-of-a-kind sculpture called “Unity” by local artist Andi Mascareñas. “Unity” features two female figures standing back to back, together supporting a globe above their heads. “It represents woman supporting woman, standing strong in one voice around the world,” according to Andi. Mascareñas has been a professional sculptor for 23 years. She is represented by Saks gallery in Denver, Smith Klein gallery in Boulder and Taos Scottsdale gallery in Scottsdale.
