Targeted Fund: The Women and Family Action Network Coalition (FAN)
(Invitation Only)
Started in 2005, the Women's FAN brings together think tanks, women's advocacy organizations, and service providers throughout the state. Together with the WFCO, it is working to reduce the number of Colorado women and girls living below self-sufficiency through economic public policy reform.
The core belief is that Women's FAN can achieve more as a collaborative group than individually. The Coalition's mission is to create a systemic change in policy and legislation that affects women and girls through a collaborative process in Colorado.
Women's FAN members represent the multiple facets of public policy reform with skills related to research and analysis, grass roots organizing, lobbying, education, advocacy, service provision and awareness building.
Through monthly meetings, funded and hosted by The Women's Foundation of Colorado, Women's FAN members spend time brainstorming policy issues, researching solutions, sharing ideas, influencing rules and regulations, creating awareness, public education, networking with various constituents and introducing legislation in support of policy issues.
Members of Women's FAN work together to create work plans to affect change. This is done through a collaborative process and is facilitated through a request for proposal (RFP) process, funded primarily by WFCO.
