Women's Foundation Staff Biographies

Gretchen Gagel McComb joined The Women's Foundation of Colorado as President & CEO in January 2005. Gretchen had volunteered for WFCO in the past, facilitating the 2002 "Hi-Tech, Low Numbers Conference", an event that prompted Gretchen to pursue a Master in Nonprofit Management from Regis University and a career change into the not-for-profit sector.

"I could not have hand-picked a more ideal organization to join. My decision to transition to the not-for-profit sector was based upon my desire to give more back to my community and to the next generation of women and girls. It's a perfect fit."

Prior to joining The Women's Foundation, Gretchen worked for Ralston Purina and Coca-Cola Enterprises in operations management. Most recently, Gretchen was a director, business unit manager, and shareholder of FMI Corporation, a Raleigh, North Carolina, based management consulting and investment banking firm. She specialized in strategic planning and organizational development. Gretchen moved to Denver in 1992, is a graduate of the University of Denver MBA program, and received her bachelors of science in mechanical engineering from Southern Methodist University. She is married to Dan and has two children, Holden, 10 and Regan, 9.

Jody Camp works with The WFCO team as Director of Programs, bringing more than 12 years of work experience with nonprofit and volunteer organizations. The former Peace Corps volunteer is responsible for coordinating the disbursement of funding to Colorado-based organizations that focus on improving women and girls' economic self-sufficiency. In addition, she leads the planning, organization and convening of a strong collaboration of Colorado-based nonprofits working toward economic policy reform.

Jody's professional background includes working for organizations such as Volunteers of America, Planned Parenthood, Mokolodi Nature Reserve, Tulane University, Americorps National Civilian Community Corps and, most recently, Water For People. Her time as a Peace Corps volunteer was spent in Botswana, Africa. Jody earned a bachelor of science from the University of Nebraska and a master's degree in international public health, from the Tulane School of International Public Health and Tropical Medicine, specializing in Women's Health and Management.

Jonathan Resnick is pleased to be a part of The Women's Foundation as the Director of Finance and Administration. Jonathan oversees the preparation of financial statements, tax reporting, and analyzes financial information and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees. Additionally he drives the annual budget process, leads the annual audit, works with external investment management consultants and oversees the Human Resources functions. He enjoys working for the Women's Foundation because he supports the mission of the organization and is excited about his contribution towards promoting the economic advancement of women.

Jonathan comes to The Women's Foundation after an extensive career in the corporate world including working for Robert Waxman, Specialty Sports, Charter Communications and Echostar Communications. After over 12 years in the corporate world and prior to joining The Women's Foundation of Colorado, Jonathan transitioned to the not for profit side in the position of Associate Director of Finance and Administration at the Western States Arts Federation.

Jonathan received his Bachelors degree in Chemistry from the University of Colorado and his Masters in Accounting from University of Colorado at Denver. He is a certified public accountant. Jonathan is married to Susan and has two children named Adam and Aimee.

Kysha McCoy joined The Women’s Foundation of Colorado June 2008 as the Finance Assistant. Prior to joining the Foundation Kysha worked for Equity Office Properties as the Property Accountant and Janus Funds as the Fund Accountant. She is a native of Denver, CO but grew up between Corona, CA and Oklahoma City, OK. Kysha is a graduate of Columbia College and received her degree in Business and Finance. She has two children Nahfia 10, and Nehemiah 3.

Kelly Fox is the Endowment Campaign/Development Manager for The Women’s Foundation of Colorado. She manages the campaign activities, as well as assists the Director of Development with additional development responsibilities including event management, donor database management and donor communications.

Kelly comes to the Foundation with over 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience. Prior to joining The Women’s Foundation she was the Campaign Director for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. At the Society she focused on event fundraising and Donor Development. She also worked as the Executive Director for the Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation and Manager for Kroenke Sports Enterprises Community Relations Department. During her time with the local sports teams her primary responsibilities included annual event fundraising, granting and community relations responsibilities. She began her nonprofit career in fundraising with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce managing various fundraising events. Kelly grew up in Colorado and received her BSBA in Marketing from the University of Denver in 2000. She currently lives in Littleton, Colorado with her husband Dan and their three children, Conor, Emma and Brayden.


Roweena Naidoo is the Queen of Quite-a-lot for The WFCO. She assists with the management of the Foundation’s granting processes and works with the Director of Programs to plan, coordinate and manage the Foundation’s projects and initiatives. Roweena also acts as a liaison to key community organizations and collaborative partners; plans, coordinates and evaluates the grant selection process; and monitors previous/current grantees.

Roweena is originally from KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Baruch College (CUNY) in New York, and a Master of Global Studies Degree from the University of Denver.

Eve Powell is focused on helping women find their philanthropic passions. She serves as the Director of Development. She helps to connect people to the work of the foundation and provides leadership for the fundraising activities of the Foundation and is responsible for reaching the annual fundraising goals. Other key initiatives include execution of donor cultivation, pledge campaigns, corporate and foundation solicitation and relations, and events. Eve also works to grow the endowment funds and any other special fundraising campaigns.

Eve was previously Director of Major Gifts with Mile High United Way where she initiated the Women’s Leadership Council with Caz Matthews. While at United Way, Eve also worked with the Tocqueville Society, 1887 Club, and planned giving. Eve worked with United Way for 9 years, including a year stint with the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. Eve also worked at Baylor Medical Center Foundation raising funds for organ transplantation and the Georgetown University Medical Center Foundation, Washington, DC.

Eve was a Board member of the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame and volunteers for a number of organizations, including Beacon Center, Curtis Park Community Center, and Urban Peak.

Marijke Swierstra serves as the Executive Assistant and Board Liaison for the Foundation, bringing diverse and extensive work experience with national and international nonprofit and public participation organizations.

Marijke’s professional background includes working for organizations such as the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults (Rocky Mountain Region), The Nature Conservancy, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, UCANServe AmeriCorps/Colorado Campus Compact, Adventure Travel Society, South African Secretariat for the International Council of Scientific Unions, Manyaka-Greyling-Meiring Environmental Impact Assessment Consultants, and the Foundation for Research Development. Marijke is our second South African on staff (joining Roweena Naidoo in this distinction) and hails from Tshwane, (aka Pretoria) in Gauteng. She earned a bachelor of science from the University of Pretoria, attended MBA courses at Pepperdine University in California, and is also a qualified somatics practitioner.


Susan Walters serves as The WFCO Development and Communications Manager. She handles a wide variety of Development tasks including donor relations, and manages WFCO website, newsletters, annual reports, and other printed and electronically published materials.

Susan's professional background includes a wide variety of artistic, marketing and public relations positions with such diverse organizations as the U.S. Air Force, Chemical Waste Management, and WOKK FM Radio. She has volunteered with Colorado Greyhound Adoption, Denver School of the Arts, and the Denver Young Artists Orchestra. Susan holds a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
