Inspiring Women's Philanthropy
"I am only one - but I am one! I can't do everything…but I can do something. And what I can do, I will do!"

As women, we give in countless ways - when we share our creativity at work, help a child take her first step, or support an important cause.
As our collective voice grows in influence in business, in politics, and in structuring and governing our communities, we can add another way to give. We can direct our collective dollars to the issues and concerns we share. The Women's Foundation of Colorado is dedicated to fostering philanthropy among women, in the belief that their contributions will create a better world, not only for women and girls, but for everyone.
The Women's Foundation encourages philanthropy by women, for women, through educational forums, as well as through its two award programs.
Two rising high school juniors are selected each year for the Dottie Lamm Academic Award, to be trained in the grantmaking process. During the first year of a 2-year term, the winners research and identify a woman-centered organization to receive a $1,500 grant through The Women's Foundation. During their senior year, they particpate in the selection process for a new class of Dottie Lamm Awardees, and mentor the winners.
The Unique Woman of Colorado Award is given each year to a woman who has left her indelible mark on the community through her leadership in business, education, philanthropy, government, the arts, sports, medicine, public service, science or technology; shown the courage to set her goals high and the determination to achieve them; and used her influence or her example positively to create a more equitable society for Colorado's women and girls. The winner selects non-profit organization to receive a $1,000 grant through The Women's Foundation of Colorado.
