Girls' Futures
"For my daughter to be her best, I must be my best. I will go to college and find a career I love. I will be somebody. Then, one day when she is old enough to understand, I will show her that I was an "A" student. And I will say, 'I made a mistake by having sex so early but look at what I have become, see how hard I had to struggle, still your life can be easier than this."

What we know about Colorado girls is cause for celebration, cause for concern, and cause for reflection.
As we think about Colorado in the coming decades, one thing is strikingly clear: the future is in the hands of our children. And approximately half a million of those children and youth are girls. Are they prepared for its challenges? Will they be full players in all its sectors and arenas? Will they live lives characterized by self-sufficiency and accomplishment?
Through research, grantmaking, and statewide initiatives the Women's Foundation of Colorado affirms its commitment to one of our state's most valuable resources - our girls.
