The Dottie Lamm Award
(Open Application process)
Dottie Lamm was The WFCO's first Board President and is a highly respected community leader. Former First Lady of Colorado, she has worked countless hours for the benefit of women and girls in Colorado. In 1987, The Women's Foundation of Colorado (WFCO) created an Award to honor Dottie Lamm's commitment to women and girls issues throughout the State.
The Dottie Lamm Award also serves as an opportunity to engage young women in social service work, to honor their academic and community service efforts, and to create future leaders in our community. By engaging young women in community and nonprofit activities, it is hoped that the awardees will obtain a new skill set and gain interest in women-centered philanthropy as an adult.

Dottie Lamm Award process information will be posted on WFCO's website each year, detailing timelines and activities for the award cycle. Nominees must be rising high school juniors, who exemplify the altruist values associated with Dottie Lamm's life and career. They must also have a history of volunteer or paid community service, and a strong academic record. Selectees are trained in the grantmaking process by The Women's Foundation. During the first year of their 2-year term, they research and identify a woman-centered organization to receive a $1,500 grant through The Women's Foundation. During their senior year in high school, they participate in the selection process for a new class of Dottie Lamm Awardees, and mentor the winners.
