WFCO in Boulder County
In Boulder County, one adult needs to earn an hourly wage of $14.51, or $30,369 , in order to meet basic needs. That number skyrockets to $60,075 annually for a family with one adult and one preschooler. But for many, those wages are out of reach. More than 27 percent of working-age households - over 26,152 households - in Boulder County have inadequate income to meet their basic needs. WFCO is working to change that through the power of our community, philanthropy, and impact.
In addition to our education events and volunteer activity, The Women’s Foundation of Colorado has awarded grants in Boulder County to organizations like the Emergency Family Assistance Association, Inc (EFAA). EFAA provides food and help with critical expenses like rent, utilities, and transportation to families in need and operates 57 units of short-term housing for families in crisis.
