Partnership for Financial Literacy
The Women’s Foundation (WFCO) is excited to announce a new partnership with the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) that focuses on educating and empowering women to take control of their personal finances, which is an important step on the road to economic self-sufficiency.
The resources available include statewide volunteer CPA speakers, training and presentation materials for trainers, and a Web site that is filled with information around the financial literacy topic, all of which are available at no charge. Specific topics that could be covered with your constituents include creation of a budget, opening and managing savings and checking accounts, compounding of money, tax basics for low income women, and how to start a small business.
The Web site, www.360financialliteracy.org/women, features more than 600 articles and personal financial planning tools targeted to women’s financial issues. You can link to and use this site immediately.
If you are interested in more information about this program or would like to request that a CPA come and speak to your group or provide training to your financial literacy trainers, please contact Liz Julin at the Colorado Society of CPAs (303-741-8607 or ljulin@COCPA.org).
